I wanted to make an uplifting video about Lucky’s Heart disease. It pains me to see her suffering. She coughs a lot and looks at me with such sad eyes. “Help Me Mom”. I didn’t want to make a depressing video, but show everyone she still acts like a puppy even though she is in major discomfort.

Valvular heart disease (VHD) is a progressive disease that is common in older dogs.VHD can affect a dog causing valve malfunction, which can lead to heart enlargement or heart failure with accumulation of fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema) or the abdomen (ascites).

I named my first …
I named my first dog lucky too.. I think that name is a jynx. My dog died at 4 years old due to auto immune anima. I even gave the dog a blood transfusion from my self..(they took the red blood cells…) It helped prolong lucks life for a while… I cried like a baby when that dog died.

over and over. Plus you really don’t know if
the vet is actually helping her. My sister in-law has spent over $10,000 on ONE DOG. Is that crazy? If the dog dies, you get another one. Yeah I know, the dog was special, blah blah blah. I guarentee you’ll forget all about the old dog when you get a new dog, and have saved thousands of dollars too.

I went indoors-something to do-a short time later he came in. The laboured breathing seemed to have gone. I thought that medicine is really working. I went into another room. About 20 minutes later I came back into the dog’s room and first thing I saw was the meal I had given him all thrown up on the floor. Coming further into the room I saw him lying on the floor. Dead. I’m really…depressed. Now I’m grieving and wondering what to do with his body…

Lucky is indeed “lucky”. My own small dog that I had from a pup for eleven years died on me about 3 hours ago. He had been diagnosed with heart problems 3-4 days ago and I had been giving him his 2 medications as prescribed by the vet. He had been having breathing problems-laboured breathing. Today I put his basket outside in the sun in the back garden. He ate a litte porriage. Sexually abused his favourite teddy bear. And I thought he was looking up. I gave him a good meal about 4 hours ago…

My cat had the same …
My cat had the same heart problem. The vet said she had about a couple of months to live. That was Nov of ‘04, we had to put her down Jan. of ‘06. She lived a lot longer than predicted.
I’d definitely say the worst part of it is the fluid in the lungs, she basically couldn’t breathe anymore…so we had to do the humane thing.
I hope your dog is doing ok! She’s adorable, especially the head tilt.
